Darlington

Darlington is a large market town in County Durham, north-east England. It is well known for its association with the birth of railways. George Stephenson is considered to be the inventor of the first steam locomotive engine for railways and in 1814 he built his first locomotive for the Stockton and Darlington Railway Line. The Stockton and Darlington Railway was the world's first public railway to use steam locomotives.
